Billy Sherwood has helmed several tribute albums as a producer, most of them featuring various members of Yes and sporting a pronounced prog rock feel. This one takes on the Beatles, and while there are some interesting pairings here of musician to song (Dweezil Zappa taking on "Tomorrow Never Knows," Leif Garrett blasting through "Birthday," Jackson Browne and Robbie Krieger joining forces for "Across the Universe"), the fact remains that no one does the Beatles quite like the Beatles, which also explains why the tracks that work best here, like David Park's take on "Day Tripper" or Sweet's rendition of "Ticket to Ride," are the ones that hold closest to the original template. ~ Steve Leggett
