Midway's over-the-top examination of the seamy side of professional football returns after a one-year hiatus in Blitz: The League II. The series once again offers a dramatized view of football, this time featuring a Campaign mode penned by Peter Egan, writer for the ESPN series Playmakers. Other new features include precision-aim tackling that lets players target a specific area of an opponent's body, a new selection of vicious tackles that shatter helmets, break bones, and knock out teeth, an enhanced Clash mode for special maneuvers, and player-controlled touchdown celebrations. Hall-of-Famer Lawrence Taylor reprises his role as the tough-as-nails player Quentin Sands, while comedians Jay Mohr and Frank Caliendo round out the cast, portraying "The Agent" and "The Prison Warden" respectively.
