As Barack Obama says in his foreword, "the purpose of this book is to describe in detail what that change would look like." It includes specific proposals for reviving the economy and investing in our prosperity, for restoring America's leadership role in the world, and for embracing America's values. It includes the texts of seven speeches, beginning with his declaration of candidacy and ending with his historic speech in Germany in July, 2004.
